How can this be happening?

Whenever I come on Yahoo answers (or most other internet boards) I constantly hear (Or see) liberals being referred to as "Libtards." Or some other equally stupid assertion is made by those on the far right about "Liberals hating America, et al."

Yet when I go out in public, I have never ever heard a liberal or someone that is thought to be a liberal ever called a "Libtard." I've never witnessed any sort of confrontation or degrading of someone, even if they were wearing an Obama t-shirt.

If the liberal left is so re-vlled, then why are they not getting trashed in public like they do online? I live in WNY, and it is hardly a liberal paradise here. Republican county executive for the past 12 years, Republican congressman in the 26th for 20+years so.

Any ideas of why no one is trashing libs in public?

The internet is the new age CB radio it has anonymity so people can go overboard with the vitriol.

Most in public would never say what they say on here that is both sides of the fence.

I guess conservatives are too nice to publicly shame a libtard for being a libtard. Besides, there's nothing more we conservatives can really do to someone wearing an Obama t-shirt -- he's already advertising to the world what a pathetic kool-aid-drinking libtard he is; why should we add more humiliation to that?

There is plenty of name calling on both sides, but Repubs seem to exclusively rely on it the most.

I try not to, and actually try to use facts and support them with Govt budget office websites.

Problem is, that's when I get called the most names, and accused of "lying."

It seems it is PC to trash the Tea Party, no one else.

Why? Hypocrisy is the rule, not the exception.
