Is My Bromeliad Plant Sick? Or Even Dead?
It looks a bit funny. It's hard to explain so I have links to pics below. Basically It's yellow but it's like there's TWO plants... The yellow flower is standing up tall, but the second flower is kind of wrapping itself around the first one. The first one looks old and dry, the second looks new and has an odd powder on its tips and isn't growing straight. And the leaves seem ok but some of them look darkened at the bottom and a couple have holes. Finally, in one of the pics, there is a tiny green stem of some sort growing at the bottom of the plant. Looks like it could be a leave, but it is rolled up like a cylinder. What is that??? AND right next to it is something else growing. Looks like a leaf with six points. Sorry my description may suck. Hope someone can help.

Bromies bloom, set pups around the base of the mother plant, then die. Pups will bloom, set pups, die.

Your photo is too small to see the details that you are talking about, but the rich green color shows that it's not dead. It's very much alive. Just snip off the sick looking parts and leave the healthy leaves with no powder on them to recover. I can't see the powder, but it may be mildew. Make sure that there is plenty of air circulation around it.
