Is Dec 21/2012 the end of time or just the end of a calander or the end of time and does it really matter?

It may not matter because time may end ,when THE LORD comes back on Pentecost May 27th /2012.'Or do you think none of those events will happen?

It may or may not be the end of the Mayan calendar, kind of like December 31, but it really does not matter one way or the other.

One of several Mayan calendars is the Long Count calendar, which is reset to day 0 every 1,872,000 days or 7057.5 years. The next reset date, by some calculations, is December 21, 2012. This is not a prediction of the end of the world. Here is what a Mayan elder says on the subject: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/newstopics/howabou...

These predictions are scare tactics, conspiracy theories, and chances to make money from books and movies.

Ever since the Y2K and 6/6/6 (June 6, 2006) End of the World scenarios did not pan out, the scare mongers, conspiracy theorists, book sellers, and television executives have been touting the 2012 End of the World scenario. When 2012 does not happen either, I am sure they will think of something else.

Here is also what NASA thinks about the 2012 End of the World scenario: http://pwg.gsfc.nasa.gov/stargaze/StarFAQ18.htm#q3...

"But of that day or hour, no one knows, neither the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. Be watchful! Be alert! You do not know when the time will come." (Mark 13:32-33)

Jesus told us in no uncertain terms that we were not to know when the end of the world would come but that we were always to be ready.

The early Christian Church thought that Jesus was going to return at any moment. Only after a couple of centuries did the Church realize that it may be 2,000 or 4,000 or 8,000 years before Jesus returns.

The Catholic Church wisely follows Jesus' advice and teaches that each of us should live as if we will meet our maker in the next ten minutes and that we need to work to make the world a better place for our 100 X great-grandchildren.

Do not worry about the end of the world. Trust God to make sure everything happens to plan. Just be ready to meet God at any time.

Well, I don't think either marks much as far as an "end of time" is concerned.

First, where are your prophets, your old men dreaming dreams, etc.? Or do you totally ignore the Old Testament prophecies of the events before the "Great and Dreadful Day of the Lord"? (Amos and Joel both had a lot to say about the end times, prophets, and so on, especially Joel with respect to the time just before that "day".) A lot of noise is made about all the events taking place in the world, but just about all Christians preach and teach that there will be no more prophets. So I guess the end of the world won't ever come if the Christians are correct... (yeah, I have a lot of disdain for all those who have predicted the end, all the way back to the end of the first century of the common era).

The Dec 21, 2012 thing is the end of a very long calendar, and that's it. According to the experts on Mesoamerica, the Mayans saw reaching the end a cause for a great celebration, so you can consider the date to be nothing more than how we view December 31st of each year. No end of the world, only the end of a year (a long one, in case of the Mayans).

TDs expected from those who hang on to a Chicken Little attitude that the sky is falling, the sky is falling.

December 21 2012 is just the end of the Mayan Calender, not the end of the world. There is no scientific proof that the world will end, just rumors that are completely absurd. The only reason there is such a big deal about this is because a bunch of movie directors found it interesting.

that's information relies off a Mayan calendar (that's the 300 and sixty 5 days the calendar stops). i do no longer understand why or how the Mayans got here to the conlusion that that's while the earth could end. i do no longer take it that heavily. everybody concept the international could lead to 2000 or while the planets final all aligned up. actuality is, there is not any understanding while the earth will end. And im seeing way too many questions approximately this date at right here.

None of the above. It is the end of a cycle of a calendar and the beginning of the next cycle.

It is the end of a cycling calender, so it is the end of nothing.

    Neither. It's an hoax.
