How do you set the timing on a 1991 Toyota Tercel?

My Husband and I are working on my car and it seems to of jumped time. What are the time markings and any helpful hints would be greatly appreciated.

    Aline the timing marks on the crank pulley. At this time the #1 piston should should be at the top & the distributor rotor should point at #1 or #4 plug wire.. You will have to take out the plug & remove the dist. cap to check this.

    Go up into the hills and put the car in neutral. Time yourself before the car crashes over a steep embankment. If you survive, buy a Ford!
