I had this problem with my first son. I did a non-stress test the five days preceding his birth. I was given something to soften my cervix. It took two days for that to take effect. I gave birth nine days early. They are monitoring you so you shouldn't stress about it. Take care.

In all honesty, it sounds like your doctor is trying to scare you. Having amniotic fluid that is " a little low" is not something to get worked up about. On top of that, it is VERY normal to not be dilated yet. Heck, most women don't deliver until 41 weeks! Putting you on a time-line basically means he is mentally preparing to do a c section on you. Induction carries a high failure rate, especially if you haven't dilated at all (my doctor flat out refuses to do inductions before dilation). That isn't the route to go unless this is a real emergency.
Drink a couple extra glasses of water a day, especially before your next ultrasound. You do need to be aware, if you aren't already, that YOU have the final say when it comes to induction. It is your right to refuse or at least get a 2nd opinion.

I'm not sure why anyone would leave you mean answers lol but low amniotic fluid can be common. They might just have to do a C-Section to get your little one out safely. You never know what can happen during pregnancy. Sometimes the umbilical cord can be too short and can wrap around the baby's neck. Ya never know! I'm sure you and your little one will be just fine! Congrats and good luck! Wishing you a safe baby, delivery, and a speedy recovery! :)
