for Covenant transport that says they will train me, but ive also seen lots of message boards saying there awful. are they a good company to work for and if not is there someone better that does training?

Don't just stop at one message board. Read multiple boards and check with other employees if you can contact any. Call the local labor board about any complaints. Check for truck driving schools in yellow pages and research them as well.
