How should I proceed after contacting a possible scam?
I was so lured in by possibly getting a little extra cash that I gave my name and cell phone number and a secondary email address to a craigslist ad that was one of those work at home. I didn't realize the mistake I made until I received an email in which I was asked to send my social security card and I9 and w4 form in.
Basically all they got from me was name, junk email address, and more crucially cell phone number. In addition, my name is not common and actually is rare.
I'm looking for some advice
I thought that at first that everything was fine. However there was a lot of bad grammar in the job details
It's a data entry job and its a company Colonial health but a gmail.com email. It really feels like a scam because their asking me to open up a pay pal account. Not even my current job asked me to submit my social security card signed copy. From Craigslist
The main thing I'm worried about is that I have a name that is pretty foreign and rare. But I've read stuff that says I should be fine if I only gave name and address.

If you didn't give your SSN the worst that can happen is that you get junk mail from fake lotteries, fake checks/money orders sent to you, annoying phishing .calls pretending to be from your bank/credit card company
As long as you know what to watch out for, you can avoid becoming the victim

Good to use a junk email for this type of thing.
If you start getting crank calls or even "this is your bank" calls - just get a pay as you go sim and start over. Pain in the butt - but just one of the hazards thesedays.
