I'd like to ask a fair question about President Obama's first 2 years in office?

I am a 73 year old married, retired airline pilot living (happily) in Italy.

If anyone exists in this world less political than myself, I have yet to meet him or her, and I intend to keep it that way.

I also consider myself to be, if not the smartest person in the world, fairly intelligent and, above all, fair.

Now I am not taking a position one way or another regarding our President's accomplishments and/or failures during his first 2 years, but I would like to make an observation and then ask my question.

It seems to me that President Obama has been trying his best to get some legislation and some Bills passed. (If that sounds amateurish, I told you I was apolitical)

It also seems to me, that he has had an unusually well-orchestrated series of continued, practically all-out oppositions placed in his path by, sorry to say this, folks: the Republicans.

Now, since I am anticipating hysteria, finger-pointing, denials, false accusations and slights upon my manhood and legitimacy, I want to get to the bottom of this.

Can anyone point me in the direction of a reliable source of facts re: ALL of President Obama's proposed legislation, bills, amendments etc....their outcome and what form of opposition (numbers and which party) these proposals have faced since he has been in office?

Specifically, what I am interested in finding out is: have ANY Republicans voted in favor of ANY of President Obama's proposals since he has been in office?

Thank you very much in advance.

You know I usually answer questions in the medical section. Tonight I decided to venture out and try something new. I'll tell you, I'm going back to what I know because so far I have answered 3 of these questions and I have never seen such rude people answering. What the heck is that all about. Instead of them answering, they are rude, obnoxious, insulting. Geesh.

I agree with you. Obama is doing nothing he said he would do while on his campaign trail I knew he wouldn't The candidates will say anything the public wants to hear just to get elected and once they're in office, the truth comes out about what liars they are. Obama abuses his power. He doesn't care. He put the health bill through and even said on TV, "it will be passed even if I have to do it while everyone else is asleep" Yeah, that's real fair. He's the only president I ever saw that abused his position so much. He is the worst president we ever had. I hope you don't get any more rude people. Can you imagine what they're going to say about my answer. You know what I say? I could care less. WE are all entitled to our own opinion. Isn't that what this forum is all about?

"First of all, you are not the smartest person in the world. If you were, we would have heard of you some time in history, you stuck-up liar. You are full of yourself, so I help that answers your questions."

How anyone can read this question, that clearly tries to maintain objectivity, and come up with that worthless anwer is inconceivable to me. Aside from the fact that making it into a book is usually a matter of popularity and not intellect, rushing into anger makes you look pretty ignorant as it involves getting angry at something someone didnt say. Most of all though, no, that didnt help answer the question at all. Why would it?

    Whitehouse website should tell you.

Why should they? He has the majority in the house and senate.

That said, how could the Republicans block anything he wanted to get through?

Further, it would do nothing but anger me to do this research for you just as it angered me when Scott Brown (R) voted for part of his health care bill.

Which BTW is the worst piece of $hit to happen in this country in a century.

You are absolutely correct. The Congressional record is public. I believe you can just google Congressional record and pull it up.

You can also go to the White House website to see what Obama has gotten passed,. It is an impressive list.

I love Italy! Good for you.
