What is the difference between a theory and hypothesis in biology?

hypothesis- a proposed explanation for a natural phenomenon based on previous observations or studies

theory- a broad explanation of some aspect of the natural world that is substantiated by a large body of evidence.

    I just wrote a whole paper on this. ha ha. Well a hypothesis is a possible or tentative explanation for scientific findings that a scientist discovered during research. A theory is a tested by other scientists who get the same results as the previous scientist's hypothesis. I hope that made sense.
