Atheists: Why are you so hooked ...?
with the bible, Jesus Christ, and Christianity?
Is it because you were all former Christians?
Or is it because that's the only religion you know so much about?

I'm not.
I'm more exposed to Christianity more than any other religion where I live, though I have researched others.
But overall I spend more time on my model railway: it's just that that would be off-topic, here.

It's because I grew up in a primarily Christian culture, and though I was never Christian, the rest of my family is. And I probably know more about Christianity than any other religion, but I also have a basic knowledge of the Torah, Koran, the Ramayana, and the dogma and history of most prominent religions.

I love reading the Bible. Particularly the Jacobean translation! Jesus' life and teachings (even if totally fictional) are great lessons for all. The Sermon on the Mount is the single greatest ethical statement ever uttered! While I don't know any xians personally (That's not my fault if you guys are clannish!), I'm sure most are fine people. I feel the same way about Muslims. Not all xians are Fred Phelps; not all Muslims are terrorists.

I know about many different religions, but Christianity is the most prolific. And, I think it's safe to say that most atheist were once, in some way, affiliated with the Christian religion.

A touch of both, to be honest. Also it's the religion which takes up the majority of the world, and the majority of the people in my country. It's the most relevant to my life and culture.

I'm 'hooked' as you put it because for the most part it's Christians who are trying to impact my everyday life by injecting their religious beliefs into laws, education and such. While 'know your enemy' is overstating things a bit, it's the same general idea.

So you want us to stop arguing against Xtianity ? Ok. I'll argue against Islam. 1:15, 4:82, abrogation from an omniscient deity, sigh... I could do this literally for another hour or so. But would it make a dent ? does eating 7 dates make you immune to poison ? why don't you go find out for me.

It is the dominant religion in my country, and I am trying to keep us from becoming a theocracy.
