Max Biaggi points needed (WSBK)?

Am I right in thinking Max only needs 18 points to take the championship title.

Update:

Hi Vitor, 4 races left Imola and Magny cours. I was thinking he needs 76 point lead after race 1. But rethinking thats maybe 18 points more than Leon or he just needs to be 51 points clear after imola.

    Hello Ben11fan! :)

I'm completely unfamiliar with WSBK point system but if each race holds 25 points for the winner and if there are 6 races left there are still 150 points on the line. If the WSBK website is accurate, Haslam has 339 points, and if he would win all those races I think he would be with 489 points? :P

Biaggi has 397 points at the moment, so I'm definitely making one or more big mistakes in my thinking heheh. maybe it's not 25 points per race any more :)

But continuing, if we add 18 points to Biagi's 397 we have 415, , and if this happens in one race, Haslam would have, not 150 points left to win, but 125 maximum (edit: ahah another mistake here). so 339 + 125 = 464 mmmmm... , lets wait for help lol :)

edit: but anyway, we've got the answers already :)

There are 4 races left - tomorrows and Magny Cours on October 3rd.

So if Leon Haslam wins them all, he can reach 439 points. Mind you, his recent form doesn't suggest this is likely!

Max has 397, so he only needs another 43 points to be unbeatable. So he could win it tomorrow. But he can easily play the percentage game, cruise round in 5th or 6th, make damn sure no one knocks him off, and pick up 10 or so points a race.

The arithmetic will be different by mid day tomorrow; lets face it, the track looked treacherous in Superpole - they might both end up in the gravel.

[ hi Ben..Max has a 58 point lead over Leon, if he can maintain that lead tomorrow he will be World Superbike Champion, as there will be only 50 points avaialable at Magny Cours...

it's been a fantastic effort by Leon to hang in there i think (what with the Aprilia's advantage), but i suspect that Max will be Champion this time tomorrow....o#o..
