Keep fighting to keep people down. You can win for a short time, but we always win in history.

As a Black Republican, I can appreciate what it is you're trying to say. But it doesn't matter what party someone belongs to. We've got racist on both sides. No one side is free of it. We just aren't. And to say that we are is sheer irresponsibility.
If you want to point out something to the Democrats. Help them to understand that their party has been taken over by Progressives. That the Democratic Party isn't the same Party that our parents belonged to. They're no longer for the working man. They're now for themselves. For a much larger government.
Maybe with any luck, one day they will wake up and see the truth. We can hope that happens and when it does they'll kick those Socialist idiots to the curb.
Hope I made sense.

Wow, so do you mean that Republicans today have the same attitude toward minorities that Lincoln had?
Lincoln lived a long time ago. The south was primarily Democrats because the south hated Lincoln for taking their economic power away from them. The north were mainly Republican, because they were taking advantage of people as well, they were just not calling them slaves. The Republican party saw an opportunity to press their economic advantage over the south by freeing the slaves. It had nothing to do with racism, Lincoln was a clear racist. It was economics.
The parties have changed. The Democratic party is no longer the party of the white southerners that wish to bring back Jim Crow laws. However, Justice Scalia just argued that there is no where in the constitution that makes homosexual discrimination unconstitutional. This idea is at odds with the way that the court has traditionally looked at protected classes. So I do think that there is some basis for the belief that the present Republican party is cool with discrimination, and liberals are not.

people say that form of crap each and every of the time. known liberals accuse the Tea occasion of being racists. Even liberal contributors to fox information have pronounced that and weren't fired for it. each and every Democrat interior the international accuses white republicans of being racist and we in basic terms proceed to declare which you're full of it. we don't hearth them, censor, them, or silence them. We debate them. Democratic assaults won't be able to hold as much as genuine debate. all of us understand that the occasion traditionally linked to racism substitute into the democrats. Then racism grew to alter right into a grimy observe so they tried to divest themselves of their own racist historic previous and project it onto republicans. i'm surprised at how many people fell for this way of tactic.

I like how your best examples are all from before Nixon!
It was Nixon who employed the Southern Strategy to win the hearts of the angry White people that hated the Democrats for pushing the Civil Rights agenda.

Maybe it was President Bush who appointed the only the 2nd black Supreme Court Justice. Or maybe it was President G.W. Bush who appointed the only 2 blacks to be Secretary of State.

You're thinking a bit too far back, partner.
Try looking up Richard Nixon and his Southern strategy. When the Democrats were kicking out the racists of their party, Richard Nixon was snapping them up like crazy...and rode that wave of racists to the Presidency.
Unfortunately for the Republican Party, you cannot absorb that many racists and not expect a few racist remarks to seep out and taint the party. Actually, quite a bit more than a few racist remarks.
You are absolutely right that the Democrats were ONCE the party of racism. We cleaned our house. Richard Nixon and Ronald Reagan messed yours up. When are you planning on cleaning your house?

1964 Barry Goldwater candidacy. His southern strategy was to convince Southern "dixiecrats" today's "blue dog" democrats that it was ok to hate black folk and be a repuuiblican.
