Can someone please help me with these math problems? They're irritating me..?

6(5x+1) - 2(x-2) = 5x+10

30x + 6 - 2x + 4 = 5x + 10 {used distributive property}

28x + 10 = 5x + 10 {combined like terms}

28x = 5x {subtracted 10 from both sides}

23x = 0 {subtracted 5x from both sides}

x = 0 {divided both sides by 23}

(x/3) - 1 = 1 - (x - 1)/2

2x - 6 = 6 - 3(x - 1) {multiplied entire equation (each term) by 6 to eliminate fractions}

2x - 6 = 6 - 3x + 3 {used distributive property}

2x - 6 = -3x + 9 {combined like terms}

2x = -3x + 15 {added 6 to both sides}

5x = 15 {added 3x to both sides}

x = 3 {divided both sides by 5}

30x + 6 - 2x + 4 = 5x + 10........30x - 2x - 5x = 10 - 6 - 4 ......23x = 0.....x = 0/23 = 0

2x/3 - 6/3 = 6/3 - 3/3x - 3/3......2/3x + 3/3x = 6/3 + 6/3- 3/3.....5/3x = 12/3 -- 3/3

5/3x = 9/3........5/3x = 3......x = 3/(5/3) = 3/1 times 3/5 = 9/5 = x

30(9/5) + 6 - 18/5 + 4 = 45/5 + 10........270/5 + 30/5 - 18/5 + 36/5 = 45/5 + 50/5

Your right, it doesn't come out correct. Did you copy the problem ok ?

Yes the 1st on is 0.

And x=3 on the 2nd one.

Your answers are correct. You probably made a mistake evaluating to -2/5 on each side when you tested your result.

You are well on the track to understanding how to learn mathematics, which is to work the problems out yourself, and to try several methods if necessary to try to make sense out of what initially seems to be a horrid mess.

For the first problem I got 0 also. and for the last one 11/5. I don't know why you think the first problem couldn't be 0.
