Help With Solving Significant Figures?
ok so help with solving and understanding So with that in mind:
Solve Following Problems with correct answer and number of significant figures
4.35dm + 2.345 dm + 7.4 dm
2.02/5.5
200 x 15.6
40m x 72.3m x 132.0m
oh there was one more thing I could use help with.
instructions are to solve following problems and answering in scientific notation I dont get that and correct number if significant figures
(4.8 x 10^5mm)-(9.7x10^4mm)

Calculate the answer, then round it to the number of significant figures in the original number with the least number of significant figures. Confused? In the first one, the 7.4 has only two significant figures, so round your answer to two sig figs. Same with the second one. The third one, 200 has only one sig fig, the same for the 40 in the fourth one.
In the last question, you first have to convert one of the numbers so that the powers of ten match. So it's (48 x 10^4) - (9.7 x 10^4) = 38.3 x 10^4. But scientific notation requires only one figure in front of the decimal, and you are limited to two sig figs, so it becomes 3.8 x !0^5.
