Airport ID question. HELP.?

I am just wondering, if I have to use a form of ID to get on a plane, could I use my learner's permit, that just expired 9/28/10??? And do you know if I could use a college issued ID card, that only has my name and picture on it?

    Permanent Resident Card

    Border Crossing Card

    DHS-designated enhanced driver's license

Drivers Licenses or other state photo identity cards issued by Department of Motor Vehicles (or equivalent) that meets REAL ID benchmarks (All states are currently in compliance)

A Native American Tribal Photo ID

An airline or airport-issued ID (if issued under a TSA-approved security plan)

    A foreign government-issued passport

Canadian provincial driver's license or Indian and Northern Affairs Canada (INAC) card

    Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC)

No, you cannot use your expired learners permit. You have to have a valid ID. A college ID doesn't work as the ID must be issued by the state or the country (a valid passport or drivers permit).

Hope you get to the DMV soon!

First of all, none of the ID that you state can be used to go through security. You would have to go through additional screening. The time it takes for that depends on how much other things with your name it

I had recently lost my driver's Lic. and on my return trip needed the additional screening. The thing that took the longest was waiting for a supervisor. Then, of course, I had other photo ID, a ton of credit cards, FF cards, Health insurance card. Plus my wife was there. We both had credit credit cards with the same number. After showing the supervisor all the other cards in my wallet, he cleared me. Didn't take more than extra 10-15 minutes.

I work for an Airline, most people don't realize it but you don't have to have an ID to travel. You will just go through a little more screening at TSA. Dont worry, you will be fine.
