I try not to but sometimes I'm the only one who answered or the rest of them really truly were no good. (Would you vote for "Thanks for the 2 points" over an actual answer?)

Most of the time I don't, but I sometimes do. I usually actually vote for the best answer even if it's not my own. But I don't vote for best answers much anyway.

I vote for answers, may they be mine or someone else's answer. If you look to the left where the avatars used to be you will see that they are not there, so unless you leave some type of clue in your answer how do you know your voting for your own answer, by the way if they do that it is a form of point gaming which is against the community guidelines and is classified as cheating.

Oddly enough, that is actually permitted here. Honest! I don't do it, as I don't think it's quite ethical. However, it is allowed. I accidentally voted for my own answer once, without knowing it was mine. It just looked like a really well-written answer, made perfect sense, and so on. I voted for it -- then I saw whose it was. There was no way to rescind that vote, or I would have done so.
