Matthew 6:14 For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:?

Do you think that verse rejects the theory of 'Jesus died on the cross for others sin'.

If not what is the status of the above verse and 6:15 of the same author?

Please explain.

Update:

But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

Update 2:

If Jesus died for all of believers of him and his revelation, no sins after this could be punished and need no forgiveness.

But the above verses clearly proves that we have trespasses and they need forgiveness and could be forgive by God as per the conditions stipulated in that verse.

Update 3:

Suppose if no one had done any sin to me how can I forgive?

If so, how would my sins be forgiven.

This shows the forgiveness is only for the victims. Then only they could forgive other's sin and see forgiveness from the God

If the above verse is correct, To whom Jesus died on the cross?

Update 4:

Suppose if no one had done any sin to me how can I forgive?

If so, how would my sins be forgiven.

This shows the forgiveness is restricted only for the victims. Then only they could forgive other's sin and seek forgiveness from the God

If the above verse is correct, To whom Jesus died on the cross?

This has to do with the importance of forgiveness.

"For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses."

If you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: Forgiveness is required for those who have been forgiven. We are not given the luxury of holding on to our bitterness towards other people.

Neither will your Father forgive your trespasses: Jesus has much more to say about forgiveness (Matthew 9:2-6, 18:21-35, and Luke 17:3-4). Here, the emphasis is on the imperative of forgiveness - it is not an option.

Jesus said, what sins you send (remit) will be sent back (remitted) to you,

Jesus said what sin are retained (kept) are retained.

Jesus said, only we have the powere to forgive sins on earth.

As Jesus was dying on the cross, he said. Father "FORGIVE THEM"

Jesus said, "Go and sin NO MORE.

God the Father will only forgive your sins if you forgave others for sins they made against you.

    BUT

    Jesus also said,

29 And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation. John 5:29

You got a very valid point, this verse completely demolishes the "once saved always saved" doctrine.

Salvation is a life time process and unless one performs works driven their faith (like forgiving others) they will not achieve it.

Exactly how would that "reject the theory"? Jesus did die on the cross for our sins, we can still choose to reject Jesus. If we choose to follow Jesus and accept salvation, how can we be sincere if our actions don't demonstrate that relationship. I think it's pretty clear.

Here's an explanation.. It's all chinese whispers and people who read into it too much (as in at all) are often confused because it contradicts itself continuously.

    Much like most Lies....

"If" implies a contingency - forgiveness was conditional in that dispensation of the kingdom.
