The is only one true and living God.

    The Father is God.

    The Son is God.

    The Holy Spirit is God.

One God in three persons. The trinity. Co-equal, co-eternal and consubstantial.

"gods" in your reference is talking about false gods (idols). Idols have no power or authority.

"Ye are gods." Psalm 82:6, John 10:34

The Creator Redeemer is glorious in contrast to everything else people give time and energy to. In calling those things (and people) gods, he rightfully and respectful acknowledges their worth in our eyes, but wherever and whenever He stands up, everything else looks inconsequential.

in the ancient hebrew times many gods, yahweh was the main guy as well as asherah and baal and it hints back to those times but they were written out of history when it became more monotheistic,

in christianity there are 4 gods

    god the father

    god the son

    god the holy ghost

and the devil the god of this world - but is not worshipped
