I make every effort to NOT get stuck in a rut. If something in my routine starts becoming boring and lackluster, I find a way to shake things up a bit.

Passion keeps me young. I have to find something that brings out my passion.

Right now, it's the upcoming vote for my state Governor. I'm jumping ship & switching parties again because I feel it's the only way to keep the cockroaches for coming back into my area & ruining the air quaility in place of jobs & turning the poor into slaves for the rich business owners.

I'm passionate about getting Jerry Brown back into the seat & defeating Meg-o-watt Whitman.

Learning something new everyday, and being around younger people helps to keep your mind young. Even when you look in the mirror and know that the body is going south, a sharp mind makes you more vibrant.

Working with kids. I've been a Bible teacher since 1988 (mostly kids, but SOME adult Bible study). Even some of 'my kids' have kids now and I'm teaching some of them. They fascinate me with their questions, ideas, and chatter. I like listening to them. Too many adults have forgotten what it's like to be a kid and to be 'invisible' to adults. One girl I've known 5 years. She's in 8th grade this year. And for the past 3 years, she has stopped into my class room on Sunday morning to get her 'weekly hug'. On Wednesday evenings at church dinners, she runs up to me for her 'mid-week hug'. She throws her arms around my neck and squeezes me tight. She just chatters away about all kinds of things and I quietly listen. She told me one time, "You listen good." I told her this past Wednesday that her hugs really mean a lot to this old guy. She stood quietly then softly hugged me and said, "I love you, Mr. Don, and so does my whole family." Got a bit misty after that.

Quit having birthdays is the only thing I know of.

I haven't yet figured out how to do that yet.

I tried it once but my kids put a chocolate cake in front of my face and that was it. I grabbed a fork and celebrated another year of being alive.

Staying physically active, but not overdoing it.

Surrounding myself with positive people. I have no time for negativity; had enough of that at work.

    Maintaining various hobbies.

Husband also keeps me young-great sense of humor.
