My colleague and I have been invited (with our partners) to view my boss's new house that he's moved into this year with his new wife. This will be followed by the company Christmas lunch at nearby pub/restaurant. Should I bring something along? And if so what? A bottle? Flowers? They are in their sixties. Thanks for suggestions.

However, I also have a Virgin cable service. Can I record cable channels onto my Humax box or I am resigned to recording onto a VCR?

I visited a friend's family home in Sherborne, Dorset and they have a well established tree in their garden. I was amazed because I've only ever seen one in the UK (at Kew Gardens) although I've seen loads in Japan.

I dug out my mum's old wooden rolling pin and found it's got a few holes in it. I tapped it and a dead bug came out of it. Is there any refill material that I can use to repair it and still use the rolling pin or is it just fit to be recycled? Thanks for your help and answers. I just can't bear the thought of throwing it away if it can still be used.

I've been invited to my boss's wedding. He's in his late sixties and it's his second marriage. He and his fiancee are both independently well off and I suspect have no need for anything since they've not included a wedding list as guidance. Obviously I would like to get them something (around the £100-£120 mark) as they are inviting me and my partner for the whole day but I'm a little blank for ideas. Help please? Their likes?
