Should I bring something?

My colleague and I have been invited (with our partners) to view my boss's new house that he's moved into this year with his new wife. This will be followed by the company Christmas lunch at nearby pub/restaurant. Should I bring something along? And if so what? A bottle? Flowers? They are in their sixties. Thanks for suggestions.

It's not really necessary to bring something with you, but would be nice of you. Seeing as this is going to be during the day, i'd steer away from an alcoholic gift. I'd be more inclined to bring them a tin of shortbread or muffins, flowers or some home made jams or something else thoughtful. Hand-made items would actually make more of an impact, so if you are into cooking or crafts, now's your time to shine.

If you decide to go with flowers though, pick something seasonal. Holly, willow, hyacinths and poinsettas always look great this time of year.

I would suggest a nice bottle of wine as a 'house-warming' gift, it's always better to bring something, especially because it's your boss and you could score some nice brownie points, plus you'd hate to find out that the new Mrs. was allergic to the flowers you brought, where as they don't have to open or even drink the wine ever, it's more of a token thing

    Source(s): Allergic to pollen!

Wow that sounds very prestiges. i would bring a bottle of wine. I think that the kind would be important. I think something that could be drinked in the early evening. I think its best to look on line or tell ur local winery what the celebration is and he can suggest a wine for you.
