I have a 1989 Honda Accord LXI 4 door that needs a new clutch.?

Any idea how much it will cost for me to get a new clutch? And can I just replace the clutch, or do I need to replace the whole transmission as well? Thanks!

A clutch is usually around $200 or so, just to buy one and install it yourself.

But to have someone else do it...as a general rule of thumb...it's about $500 to get a clutch replaced. You can find places that will charge much more, of course...but if you look around a bit, you should be able to get it done for $500.

And the transmission should be OK, depending on how much wear and tear it has. It would be easier for someone to replace the transmission along with the clutch, and you could probably get a package deal for someone to do both. It would be more than just replacing a clutch or just replacing a transmission...but less than having them both replaced separately.

    Good luck!

for a 1989 you can just buy clutch for about 150 maybe 200... and no you don't have to get a new transmission for it unless you messed it up.

in my experience if you dont know how to do the work yourself at least buy the parts yourself.. alot of shop jack up prices real high on parts to get more money out of you. like its been stated if you dont know how to do it yourself you will be spending around 700-1000 with parts and labor, 150ish for just the parts.
