How do I heal ingrown hairs/red bumps on my bikini line?
I shaved with my regular razor, which is barely used, and now I have these painful red bumps along my bikini line. Is there anything I can do to soothe it, because with every step it hurts!
Thanks in advanced.

Use a topical antibiotic (neosporin etc.). There's also plenty of websites where you can find information on how to get a smooth, bump free bikini line. You'll find one below.

The problem is pubic hair is usually curly. If you have naturally curly hair on your head, that makes the problem even worse. When you pluck the hair out, you are pulling it out below the skin level. When it grows back it tends to grow back curly. It gets caught under the skin and rather than coming out, it simply rolls up under the skin, causing the bump. The irritation of the bump can explain the redness or it could be due to infection. You really only have three solutions to this. First, let the hair grow out. Once it gets above the skin line, it will curl outside and you will not get the red bumps. You may need to wear a bigger bikini bottom to cover the hair. Second, stop waxing!! Use a razor and cut the hair at the skin line. If the hair is above the skin line, it can not get trapped under the skin line and no bumps will form. Third, see a plastic surgeon about getting laser hair removal. This will cost you quite a bit compared to shaving and hot waxing but once it is done, the hair is gone forever.

that happend to my sister. sometimes if your just using lotion, of soap while shaving (alot of girls do that at my school) the skin is irritated. buy new chaving cream and get a new razor. stop putting lotion on them it might make it worse.
Exfoliation will help to "prevent" razor bumps (do not exfoliate if bumps are present however, as this will further aggravate your skin). What this does is to help remove hardened plugs of proteins that form in the pores. These plugs cause hair to grow under the skin.
Take note that you should at all costs try to stay away from multiple blade razors as these will only serve to promote ingrown hairs (this is because you are shaving too close to the skin and this will cause the hair to grow under the skin when it regrows). They also give the hairs sharpened tips making it easier to grow through the pores of the skin.
Try using an electric razor if you can afford to. If you must use blades, try exfoliating and moisturizing the area before shaving (at least 24 hours before). When shaving, guide the razor in the direction of the hair growth. Not against it.
You can followup up with a proven product like Tendskin.
You can seek alternatives to shaving like depilatories, electrolysis or laser hair removal if the solution presented does not work.
All in all if you follow a routine of exfoliation, moisturizing, use of single blade or electric razors and shaving with the hair instead of against it and the application of a product like Tendskin, all should be made well.
PS DO NOT WAX. Waxing damages the hair follicles causing the hair to grow in the wrong direction and thus intensify the problem of ingrown hair

Hello Ash. I suggest you don't wear a bikini at all. That can be interpreted in many ways and it depends on what kind of beach you hang out on. But really i don't know anything about a bikini line and how to soothe yours. the only line i have is a farmer's tan and i've tried changing professions and it still won't fade away.
