diesel in gas tank instead of gas?

won't hurt it a bit but you need to drain the tank and put in gas or she will never run. who ever gave me the thumbs down must not know much because it won't hurt the engine a bit only a PAIN to clean out the diesel and flush it out .

If you haven't had any trouble yet don't drive it any further.

I work on both gas and diesel vehicles and you will not go too far with diesel fuel in your gas car.

If, as the other answer said you only put $5 in it you could fill it with gasoline and dilute it and hope for the best.

Any more than a few litres of diesel fuel will ruin the engine from top to bottom.

What you really should do is take no chances and drain the tank, change the fuel filter if it has one and drain the lines. Then fill it with gas.

I would first ask around in your circle of friends if anybody is friends with a trustworthy car mechanic. Some times it requires just changing a few filters and cleaning out some of the lines. if you go to the dealership they might make you replace the gas tank and many other things that will easily run you a couple of grand. Ask a mechanic to replace your filters and you might be able to fill up your tank to the max to dilute the diesel

you have to flush the system, clean out the tank, clean out the fuel lines, and pump fresh fuel into the inection system of your car. not an easy task, but you dont have much choice at this point.

say bye bye, it's toast. not worth fixing if its already ran through the engine
