Will you write a poem about overcoming something personal?

Not necessary to tell WHAT, just the overcoming of it and feelings afterwards.

It was bad and I was young.

A child by definition, as if

    such legalities actually

    matter.

    Phrases were uttered that

    haunt me to this day,

    blue balls,

    I will tell your mother.

Oh yes, that one could really

    get me hopping,

or humping, as the case may be.

    The explaining to every lover,

    every husband, the tears,

    the panic. Wore me

    down. So far down

    that one day, one

    miraculous day, it

    was simply gone.

    Too much, too much wear,

    and I turned away.

    Now I would kill.

    Now I am stronger.

Truly a force to be reckoned with.

Purrrhaps it has to do with an inner struggle to know. Perhaps I'm there IDK. Well whatever, I just keep walking to who knows where with only faith, friends and family to back me up:

There’s not the frailest who voices our tongue,

Who’s garbed in this same vestment of decay,

Who's neither seen nor heard an angel sing

Yet is a doubter of life’s silent plays.

and while breath learns of new forms and reshapes

The only sound we hear is of a knell

Of death’s thump with each echo of the bell

Of a spent doctrine from which we’ve escaped.

We have forgotten what our souls have known,

How we’ve beheld the mysteries, been awed

that we've for long been led nowhere and shown

through twisting pathways and perplexing roads

Truth that's unworded we will recognize

Though we should wish to close both (of) our eyes

  • I just write down what I feel, it does not exactly have to be a poem, but to get the things on my mind and stress off I just write about it on the computer read it a couple of times and then delete it.

    From my book:

    THE PAST BANISHED

    by Elaine Polin

In all this time I had no thoughts of you,

Nor dreamed of years of youthful innocence

When love was always in the present tense

And every moment endless seemed, and new.

Now, at the twilight of my many days

You call to me and offer love again,

I could no longer bear to feel such pain

As when our roads led us in separate ways.

Too late, my dear, the tears dried long ago

When laughter made its entry to my heart,

Sparked saddened soul with poetry and art,

Blanked out your voice, your face, your youthful glow.

Today I venture forth to a new time

With youth renewed, while you stay far behind.

“Upwards of and possibly more than 500, 000 Australians experienced care in an orphanage, Home or other form of out-of-home care during the last century. Children were placed in care for a myriad of reasons including being orphaned; being born to a single mother; family dislocation from domestic violence, divorce or separation; family poverty and parents’ inability to cope with their children often as a result of some form of crisis or hardship Forgotten Australians are survivors. Many have great strengths. “ and I am one of them, on wards and up wards is my motto

Given that I haven't overcome it yet, I can still write about it.

White count low, Red flagging, depleted.

    Week after week, treatments repeated,

My wit and will keep me from feeling defeated.

Hi. I don't need to worry about wear and tear of others i thank God i over came it.

In life's relentless wear and tear,

God gives us those who care and share,

A caring heart, a listening ear,

A thoughtful word, a gentle tear,

Will help me to lift the heavy load ,

of weary soul's along life's road.

    my teddy bear

    overcame his problem

    of repeating himself

    every time his string

    was pulled

    the string snapped

    and

    he died inside

    it seemed

    like a good plan

    the difference

    between the strong silence

    of overcoming

    and a snapped string

    is indiscernible

    except in the eyes

    we grieve for the leaving

    when that day comes

    some will grow old

    and some will go young

    worry not for tomorrow

    nor mourn yesterday

    if we live in regret

    we miss our today

    cherish your moment

    this is the one

    for no one is given

    their days in the sun

-Getting over regret and time wasted.
