Any known circumstances of any country footy leagues that have had 2 consecutive drawn games in a GF?

Then they have had to have a 2nd Grand Final replay? Just curious. I would think the chances are slim and none.

Update:

Nice about all the NRL comments, but this is an Australian Rules Football question.

Not that I know off, but I personally think that the AFL has got this right. All of the knockers saying golden point or extra time should have been implemented, are the same knockers that have been whinging about golden point in the NRL since it's inception. Players and supporters alike in the NRL have been more gut wrenched by losing in Golden Point than if they lose in normal time.

The players from both Collingwood, and St Kilda, played above and beyond the call of duty last week. Neither side left anything out on the paddock. To have then be made to battle for another ten or twenty minutes to secure an outcome would not only have been unfair, it would have bordered on inhumane. You can't tell me that anybody who watched that game, either at home, At the ground, or at any of the thousands of venues around the country, can say they are disappointed with what they saw. If they had made them play for an outcome straight away, then it would have detrimental to the phenomenal spectacle that it was. cheers

Before the NRL had golden point, which many NRL fans hate, they played ten minutes each way for tied grand finals. The best of which was Balmain and Canberra in 1989. If teams were still tied it was replayed. I think a second GF is nothing more than a money making cop out. Another alternative is the Sydney Rugby Union where if the teams are still locked after extra time, the teams are declared joint premiers.

I would say that it has never happened. as having a drawn game alone in aussie rules. is some thing that has happened only 3 times in the history of VFL/AFL.

I would say that it doesn't happen in other codes. because they play extra time.

Bill P. i remember that final between Balmain and Canberra in NRL back in 1989. that was 1 of the best rugby league grand finals that i have ever seen. and still today. its a game that people talk about a lot.
