do you think i could use hair gel instead ?

i need to make a plant cell for science and in this answer they said to use candle gel could i use hair gel

    In candle gel you can embed "organelles" and they stay where yo want,

    I never used hair gel, but I imagine it smells, it is more expensive than candle gel, hardens rather quickly and is not as solid as candle gel.

    I would prefer candle gel or clear silicon, but silicon needs 24 hours to harden.

    Another cheap material is gelatine and water, but that needs long time to set too and you have to make the layers step by step.
