Broken Friendship- Best Friends?

Here's the situation, this girl (mary) and I have been friends since high school, we went to the same university together and always hanging out with each other. After graduating from college, Mary decided to move to another state with her other best friend. The whole time she's been there she has made no attempt to contact me. I have called, emailed, texted and facebooked her, but she will not answer. I have this feeling that she is ignoring me,but I don't know why?? I have been trying to contact her, but it is to no avail. Should I move on and just cut my loses with her or continue to try to get in contact with her? Also, she came back into the state recently (she's still here) and she will not answer or call back. We have been close friends for so long (like sisters), it is hard to let go. She is the only close/best friend that i have. Please give me some advice-Thank you

It's time to move on. Your friend hasn't bothered to contact you at all, so she doesn't really qualify as a best friend anymore. You said she's the only close/best friend you have, but if she's ignoring you, your friendship is pretty much over. I know what you're going through. I had 2 friends who just stopped contacting me this past year. They never invited me to visit them (they live 3 hours away from me). One friend cut off all contact, and the other would only call me if I called her first. To make a long story short, both friends dumped me in an email and a letter. I was devastated and so depressed that I started drinking a little. A couple months went by and I decided I couldn't let either of them go until I told them how much they hurt me. I emailed/wrote a letter to both girls and it felt good to get everything I've been feeling out. I'm still hurt and mad as hell, but at least I got to have the final word.

It might be good for you to email this friend and tell her how you feel. Ask her why she won't talk to you. If she still says nothing, then forget her. If she contacts you, hear her out and then decide whether your friendship is worth saving. What I've realized is that friendships are only temporary. The only person you can count on is yourself. Good luck.
