Issues with my 2002 Volvo S60?

Just about every time that I start my car it seems to die. I turn the key, the engine starts and about five seconds later the engine stops. All the electrical components still work but the engine has turned off. After a few tries where it shuts off, the car will start up just fine and drives with no issues. I am not sure what could be causing this, any insight would be great! I'd like an idea before I take it to the shop so I don't waste money.

    It is a Volvo!

It's a Volvo and as such could be almost anything. They are plagued with electrical issues and ridiculous problems that you never have with other cars. One thing you can be sure of - whatever it is will cost you a fortune to fix. Been there, done that, got rid of the car before it drained my wallet.

Your most likely problem is the crank position sensor.

Fuel delivery or ignition problem. Frankly, telling you this isn't going to make a difference because you aren't going to be able to fix either. Just take it into the shop and in the future buy a car that's cheaper to repair if you're afraid of spending money.

You want a nice luxury car you've got to pay the price to fix it. ALL MANUFACTURERS. If you were worried about reliability you'd have bought a better car (Lexus, Cadillac, Acura, Subaru, etc.).
