What kind of bug is this?

The boyfriend and I saw many of these large black bugs while walking in a corn maze over the weekend. When we touched it (with a stick) its legs oozed some orange liquid looking substance and then the thing went into some kind of shock (like played dead). Any ideas?

If this can be a beetle, it's by and large a potato beetle. They are particularly usual in America and feature specified darkish and light brown stripes stripes. If you understand what style of trojan horse it's, what state or nation it's in, or some other understanding I could also be capable to aid extra.

that definitley is a larvae of some kind. It will molt its current shell, and turn into some kind of flying creature, like a dragon fly!
