Hi there!
I would recommend you to stay in Sultanahmet. It is close to Taksim and major Istanbul sights. If you have only 3 days in the city, you should visit the main must-see places: Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace, Yerebatan reservoir, Eminonu pier. Take the Bosphorus boat trip, visit some authentic Istanbul restaurants: Pierre Loti cafe, Tria Elegance, Ciya Sofrasi and many others. You can feel safe in Istanbul, people are very friendly. There are crowds of tourists like you.

istanbul is a wonderful place,i just got beck from there two weeks ago and i loved it ,as a tourist u should stay in place called taksim caddeci u'll be able to see people from all over the world there, u should go to sultanahmet mosque and ayasophia the"islamic church" u should see the the Egyptian stones(these places are all in the same area no need to take tram or taxi u just need to take a walk) and by living in taksim u'll be able to visit istiklal caddeci it's the best place for SHOPPING and u should go to the grandbazar it's a little bit expensive though ,and if u have enough time u should go by the ferry to an iland called "buyukada "it's an awesome place there are no cars in it ,just horses and bicycles, there are too many places to see in istanbul u need more than 3 days ! ,about the money it depends on the hotel u'll gonna stay in takim has hotels the costs from 40$to 200$ a night ,the transportation there is very cheap especially the tram ,the food u should try the turkish kebab is yammy and finally u should try the baklava it's some kind of sweets.hope i've helped and for more info buy istanbul the tourist guide from anywhere in istanbul ,have a nice trip

It's not worthy to go to Turkey for only three days. At least 7 days you need to stay ther if you want to enjoy it!
Source(s): I had been there last year for 15 days.
