if you really love it, just go for it. i don't think a ring price around $400 is too much, if you can afford it

You know, that all Depends on if it's Affordable from the Perspective of the person Paying for the Ring.
It's High for a Class-Ring, but it may not be too bad for some people.
But Please DO keep in Mind, that your Eventually going to do one the Following with it After you Graduate:
1- Damage the Ring Severely. (Like I did: Garbage Disposal)
2- Loose the Ring.
3- Quit Wearing the Ring, and sit it somewhere, where you never take it out ever again.
You Really wont wear it after High School. Trust me! ;^)
Just keep that in Mind.
