Portable Dvd Player + DVD-RW Disc's?!?
Here's the DVD Player i was thinking of getting -
http://www.walmart.com/ip/Philips-7-Portable-Dvd-P...
I read everything about it, and it says that it can play DVD-R, and DVD-RW's, as well as regular DVD's and CD's. But i put a DVD-R in my last DVD Player, and it screwed it up. Now my DVD Player 90% of the time wont accept any regular DVD i put in it. Eighter telling me that, "No Disc", or it'll just keep spinning and making weird noises like it's trying to work. And it never gave me a probablem before that. Or maybe it could've been a coincidence, and it's just been used to many times. But i think i only got it last year at X-Mas. So it's not even a year old.
I've recently burned some of my favorite Anime Shows onto Blank DVD-R's, and DVD-RW's, and i would really like to watch them on this new Portable DVD Player.
the Dvd Player i have now, isn't a Philips, it's a Magnavox.

Here is the problem as I see it. Just because a DVD player says it can play DVD-R and DVD-RW does not mean it can play anything that is on DVD-R and DVD-RW. The video format supported is also important. The video file has to be in a format that the player can interpret and playback. Thus, if you are trying to play AVI files on a player that cannot play AVI files then it does not matter if the box says it can play DVD-R you still won't be able to play that AVI file. In many cases, when they say DVD-R and RW they are talking about movies/videos that are in DVD video format ( like regular movie dvd's you buy at the store) and not AVI, DVIX or any other video format.
I hope this helps you.

Make sure before buying, ask the seller if the dvd player can play dvd+rw discs.
