My heater on my window unit isnt working?

I have a 3 yr old Frigidair window unit. the heater doesnt work anymore. i havent ran the heater part all summer so its been about 6 months or more i live in texas. the air conditioning works fine. anyone maybe know whats wrong or what i should do? i need a heater very soon.

    If it is an electric resistance heater (non heat pump) the usual culprits are either the system switch or the thermostat. Neither is really user serviceable unless you have had some training in appliance repair.
