Oil companies manipulating public perception of global warming?

Oil burning is a very small part of the CO2 produced. Vehicles only produce about 8-10 % of man made CO2. Most is produced from Power plants and industry burning coal, gas, etc. Even if we completely removed half the vehicles, the effect would be small. To really make a difference, we need to switch to Nuclear Power for our electricity.

The primary reason to get off as much oil as possible is our national security.

The only manipulation of public perception of global warming on the part of *some* oil companies is in imparting the false impression that they *care* about the public perception of global warming.

Now... Quite a few oil industry geoscientists (like me) think that the so-called consensus is dead wrong about the science and enjoy arguing with the Gorebots & Warmistas.

Yes that is why BP has started to branch out to other forms of energy research. Some of the oil companies are trying to branch off into other forms of energy when they can to cover all of the bases.

What I find funny is how environmentalists will sue to stop a new power plant that would have allowed an older plant to go off line and bring on a cleaner plant.

They stand to profit from the scam because of there investment in natural gas reserves and solar factories.
