Determine the remainder of (x2 + 3x + 4) divided by (x + 1) without using long division?

please show work thanks

    By a known theorem the remainder is P(-1) = 1-3+4= 2

    x^2+3x+4= (x+1)*Q(x) +Remainder

    if you put in x= -1

    1-3+4=0*Q(-1)+R =R
