Help! I Can't Delete This File! Please Read The Whole Thing...?
I downloaded a free trial of a game called Fishdom 2 from PlaySushi.com on September 26th, 2010. About 10 days ago.
I never played it, I think because it didn't work or something.
But it's still in "My Documents" and today I tried to delete it.
It doesn't delete!
Every time I try to delete it, it says "cannot delete fishdom-2-premium-edition_en_trial: It is being used by another person or program. Close any programs that might be using the file and try again."
So I restarted my computer (Windows XP) and I tried it again.
But it's still saying the same thing.
I searched for any other files with the word "fishdom" in it, and that was the only one. Is it a virus or something?
I don't know what to do.
My computer has been going really slow since I downloaded it.
The exact location of it is "C:\Documents and Settings\Brittany\My Documents\Downloads"
If anyone can help me, please do.
Oh thank you both of you who suggested Unlocker! It worked like a charm!
And thank you Aleshia! Avast is on my computer now! Thanks! :-)

step 1. hit ctrl, atl, and delete at the same time. this will start your task manager.
step 2. at the top of the screen that pops up (the task manager), there will be a tab that says processes.
step 3. click on the processes tab
step 4. browse through the processes running on your computer. (you should find one that says something like "fishdom.exe" or something like that. it will tell you who is using the file, and it should either say owner, user or your name.
step 5. when and if you find any processes pertaining to fishdom, click on it and then click end process. it may pop up a screen asking if you are sure, hit ok or yes. that should remove it from your list of processes.
step 6. close out of that window. you are done with that.
step 7. open up add or remove programs. (click start>control panel. chose to view it in the classic view if you haven't already. then select add or remove programs.) it may take some time to load, depending on how many programs you have on there.
step 8. when it loads, find the game on there and select it. there should be a button on the side that says remove/change. select it. it should delete it.
step 9. if that did not work. try going in to the folder where the file is located and manually deleting it. it should delete.
if it does not delete, i would say, there is probably a virus involved and i would suggest running norton/macafee or what ever antivirus software you have and trying to get rid of it.
if you do not have antivirus, try avast. it what i use. www.avast.com/free-antivirus-download
