Should Sharia Law be allowed in the USA?

If American men get jail time for beating wife > stoning some one who supposedly did wrong, damaging body parts ,never mind the cutting off part.Or how about beating your daughter , when half the time a simple spanking can get us in trouble . I say NO. Even if they claim it to be there religious law it goes against our laws

Update:

Well glad to see most are against, as they are trying to bring it here. Look close around the country.

    Hello;

This isn't much of a question. As I understand it Sharia Law is based on the religion and the government being linked. Since this is expressly forbidden by the constitution, there is almost no chance of Sharia Law being accepted.

Also our system has the concept of equal rights for women (again this is a constitutional principle) that is in direct opposition to the principles of Sharia Law.

That depends... Sharia law as it is explained in the Quran, or Sharia law as countries like Saudi Arabia practice it?

From what I understand, some countries in Europe have begun permitting Sharia law to the Muslims who want it. In other words, they're not forcing Sharia on non-Muslims, they're giving Muslims a chance to practice laws that adhere to their faith. Permitting Sharia law in the US would be a great thing, in my opinion, but I doubt it would happen because sooooo many people associate Sharia law with beheadings and such, or would see it as an attempt to force everyone to abide by Islamic law and would automatically say no before you could finish the sentence.

Just an interesting note; in Muslim countries like Egypt, there are Islamic courts as well as Christian courts. You will very often see Christians going through Islamic courts, primarily for things like divorces where Christian courts won't allow it.

Lol, see! ^ Nobody really even knows what Sharia IS except that they've been told it's bad and degrading to women, rofl! Perhaps if a little bit of reading were done, these people would change their minds without hesitation. But, as the saying goes: You can lead a horse to water...

Sharia Law is based on hammering down women to be obedient mutts instead of loving wives. This goes against practically all of the USA's laws...and for good reason. Sharia Law might as well be translated into Devil Worshipping. And they call us the sinners!!!??? In the USA, there are laws....if you live there...you obey them....you do NOT make up your own!!!

I would say no, though I am from the UK the issue has been brought over here.

I don't care if their religious law dictates that.

At the end of the day, if they leave their country then they left it for a reason. If they want to change their new home to their old one, then they can just leave.

We have our own laws. That's it. We should not have to accomodate theirs because that's their religion. They chose to come here.

I'm against it. Then again, I'm also against Biblical law, which is getting pushed every freakin' day through the Senate (laws against gay marriage based on some religion's definition of "morality", etc) and what do you say about it? Nothing. Separate church and state, separate mosque and state, separate synagogue and state, separate ashram from state. Everything.

No. The principle of Democracy is rule by majority. The majority of Americans are white, speak English and preach Christianity. Immigrants should respect that if they wish to move to the USA.

No, it's a violation of the First Amendment.

And Shariah is almost identical to the Old Testament law... which isn't allowed either.

No. Neither should Biblical Law or Halakha.

The U.S. is a secular nation.

Sharia law should be banned from the universe, as well as those who desires it.

Those laws are for those countries. We have our own laws.
