How to find compatible Video Card?
I have a Gateway 507GR Desktop, I want to upgrade my video card for gaming purposes.
Specs:
Chipset: Integrated Intel Graphics Media Accelerator (GMA)
Video Bus: PCI Express x16
Shared Video RAM: 64 MB (Max)
Intel® GMA900 onboard graphics subsystem
What should I look for in finding a new card? Any recommendations for my specific build?
Thanks for the detailed response and recommendations. I'm thinking of getting the Galaxy GeForce GT210, my computer can only handle 300 watts. I think this should be fine.

Okay. You have a Gateway mini tower with a Pentium 4 processor and a PCI Express x16 slot available.
You can put in any PCI Express card that:
1) Fits your case
2) Your power supply can handle
3) You can afford
It would help to know what you wish to do with that new video card. Watch movies (low end) or game (high end). Knowing what your power supply specs are - such as how many Amps are on the 12v bus - would also be a big help. (these have to be read from a sticker on the side of the power supply)
Without upgrading the power supply, you have few options.
1) ATI Radeon HD 5450 is very low power and will work in almost any PC
2) ATI Radeon HD 5570 is semi low power, and will likely work
3) Low end nVidia cards would also work, such as the GeForce 310 or GT 220.
None of the above cards are considered hardcore gaming cards. With a P4 processor, I can't advise getting a higher cost video card and power supply upgrade because your processor will become the limiting factor.
