Do the dead really come back?
I don't mean do they come back as ghosts and spirits and all that..My mother passed away on the 31st of this august and I keep getting the feeling that she really isn't dead.and that she must have somehow managed to escape from the crematorium at the last moment and I've been staying up at night especially these last 2 weeks waiting for her to knock on the door.I know its illogical but daily around 6pm (Mummy's time of death was 5:55 pm), its almost as if mummy tells me that she's going to come home tonight. And before you ask, I am 30, engaged to be married this December, a doctor and certainly not mad.
So is it possible for the dead to come back somehow? And is there anyone(other than Jesus) who's done so?
PS: maybe I am going mad
ur quite a character , Miss. *grin* , I'm just glad ur not my friend..lets hope u never have to face anything halfway similar

.....First, let me say that I'm sorry for your loss. You know both in your heart and your mind that the dead do not come back. You're a highly educated person so you know that to be true. You also know that this is wishful thinking on your part and, with time, you'll come through this bad time in your life. Best wishes. :-)

I'm sorry about your mother. But from what it sounds like I would say that your mind may be not wanting to except the passing of your mother whether you are aware of this in your conscience or not. I am not one to believe in ghosts or anything so that is why that others may have answers that differ from mine. These feelings may also be caused by denial (again either sub conscience or not) or that it completely hasn't sunk in yet and your mind is still trying to get over this big change. The mind is very powerful and can play extraordinary tricks on you! This probably wasn't the answer you wanted but that's the best I can give. As for trying to stop these feelings I would recommend to busy yourself around the times you feel these feelings, think about our mother daily (about all the good things) and try to look at her passing in the best way possible and if none of that works or it gets worse I would see a counselor... there are many people that specialize in counseling people over deaths and so on.

If we honestly knew the answer, the world would be SO different.
But my mom can relate to you. My mom, I think two years ago, around my dead grandma's (my mom's mom) birthday my mom was getting ready for work. She goes to work really early, and I think when she went downstairs, it was around 4:00AM and my mom swore she smelled the EXACT scent that was at my grandmother's funeral. I think it was some flowery scent my mom said and the smell of burning candles. My mom swore that she felt as if her mom was right there next to her, telling her that everything is all right, and that she's there for her. I think it's pretty cool. :) But I do know what you're talking about, sometimes, you feel like they aren't dead, that they're just next to you, and that they're always going to visit you or be by your side any time.
Source(s): P.S I'm really sorry for your loss. It's hard when you lose a loved one, but I'm sure she's doing great up there, watching you, and being proud of having an accomplished son/daughter. <3 - 1 decade ago
i think tht this is the way ur coping with ur mothers death. dont worry ur not going crazy. im srry 2 hear about ur mother, and maybe if u still feel strong sadness, go to a therapist and try it out, it might help. also, talk 2 ur fiance about how u feel, ik it sounds sappy 2 share ur feelings but it really might help.
