Is anyone else being invaded by the brown marmorated stinkbug?

Just sitting by the computer when it dived on me and let out a stink bomb. It flew up to the lampshade and I caught it in a jar. I recognized it as the brown marmorated stinkbug and I remember hearing how many homes in PA were being invaded by this bug, but I live in upstate NY and this is the first one I've ever seen. I wonder how it got in the house too, because normally even flies can't get in here and this bug is bigger than that. Hopefully it won't happen again because although he's interesting to study the smell really is quite strong.

YES!!!! I live in Maryland and they are everywhere! On my windows, on my doors... they try and get into my car if I leave the windows down... I feel like a prisoner in my own home because I can't open my windows to get fresh air or else they'll come in.

A word of advice... next time you see one - KILL IT WITH WINDEX! What ever you do - DON'T put it outside to live... they will just multiply and come back next year. If you're not seeing many of them there yet - do yourself a favor and do everything you can to KEEP from seeing them or you'll be in the same situation as Maryland, New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

    Best of luck!

Stinkbugs are most harmful when you don't notice them - from mid-June until mid-August when they lay eggs and nymphs and adults damage leaves and fruit. This is the time when they need to be controlled so that as little as possible of them survive until fall.

Those that you see in fall are preparing to hibernation.

Some East Coast states may re-classify them as a major pest and start applying insecticides some more.

Bugs themselves are fascinating. They are very agile and active. had to flush one when after walking around my bathroom for a couple of days, one stinkbug eventually found cushy resting place on my feaking toothbush!

    Here more about them

I killed sixteen the day previous, they cling on the curtains everywhere in the mattress it rather is destructive.I understand the climate is getting cooler and that they try to locate heat temperature. they arrive from China, and have no predators. They do stink in case you squeeze them.
