Air Force in college scholarship?

Ok im currently a freshman at Embry Riddle studying Aerospace Engineering and found out that the Air Force doesnt provide scholarships for in college students with that major anymore. So Im wondering why and when if ever will they change it back to were they will be providing scholarships for in college students for that major.

I have a 4.0 currently and am very fit since I train originally in powerlifting and Olympic weightlifting so the PT isnt really too much of a concern really.

In the future I do hope to become a pilot for a Fighter Jet, which is why I ask.

Please give as much advise as you can, thanks

    Hello Simon,

The Air Force doesn't change its policies fast enough for YOU to benefit.

You are in the wrong major.

Pilots are not selected because they have aerospace engineering degrees. You take that degree if you want to work in civilian industry building planes for companies that sell them to the military.

IF you want to really be in the Air Force and MAYBE be qualified to fly then, you need to finish up this freshman year with your 101 courses. Then, get ready NOW TO APPLY to Air Force ROTC and do 3 years in AFROTC at your college. Select a new major that ROTC advises for officers and go for it.

Why are you not in AF ROTC now?

Remember, this, if you do get selected for flight training you just might be tapped to fly bombers, or tankers, or cargo aircraft. You might yet be a helicopter pilot or even a navigator. These are all flying assignments. Not everyone flies jets in the Air Force.

    Best wishes,
