I want to get a butterfy right before my neck in between my shoulder blades. Its going to have dots that get smaller and small coming off the center of the wings up to the top of my shoulders. then dots coming down to trace my shoulder blades. i know this is gonna hurt like hell so dont tell me that. is it a good idea?

Draw out a rough idea (don't worry if it doesn't look good, as long as it conveys what you are envisioning) and then write down the description, then take it to your tattoo artist to draw up a custom design for you based on this and your anatomy.

Have a consultation beforehand to make sure that your tattoo artist and you are on the same page. Never presume that what you have in your head someone can draw up for you without your help with references. Once you are pleased with the design then you can discuss colors, and be sure to look at the portfolios to see what the colors of inks will end up looking like on your skin tone. The tattoo artist will know the inks and how well they hold up over time.

    luck~

The idea you have for you're tattoo sounds pretty. Honestly it might not hurt as bad as you think it's going to. Everybody has a different tolerance of pain. I sat through getting tattooed for almost 6 hours from my hip bone to my shoulder and the tattoo was also on my ribs, and to me it didn't hurt at all. Good luck :)

It's a good idea, and since you are worried about the pain i assume this is your fist tattoo, so good luck.
