Believers in Christ what say you?

Do you believe animals go to heaven?

Ecclesiastes says that man and animals have a spirit and their spirits return to God and their bodies returns to dust from which they came.

While on the Cross Jesus said:

"Father, into your hands I commend my spirit." He didn't say Father into your hands I commend my soul.

I believe they go to heaven. I had a dream once a week before the day that my dog Brandy died. There was darkness and light and they were separated. The white light was so bright and the darkness was filled with dogs and they were standing outside the light. Romans 8 says that all of creation cannot wait to be redeemed and that they await the redemption of their bodies from death and decay. Ecclesiastes says that animals have spirits and as I said before Jesus said Father, into you hands I commend my spirit not his soul.

Many would argue dogs don't have a soul but Jesus didn't comment his soul to God he commended his spirit. Romans 8 also says that Creation didn't choose to fall (Adam and Eve did) We do too. Romans 8 says Creation fell with mankind when mankind fell and that it was not of their choosing to fall. They did not fall by choice.

Do you honestly believe that God would commit them to non-existence after creating them. The scriptures say God loves all animals great and small. He deemed the sea filled with them and it was so. He created them for his enjoyment. Why wouldn't he then have them in heaven. It is written that the lion will lay down with the lamb after all.

What say you

Thank you!

Update:

Hawt Sauce: My question is do you believe animals go to heaven. I didn't say the bible says they do or I wouldn't be asking. I said the bible says they have a spirit and their bodies return to dust.

Ecclesiastes 3:18 says: As for men, God tests them so that they may see they are like the animals. 19: Man's fate is like that of the animals; the same fate awaits them both; as one dies, so dies the other. All have the same breath; man has no advantage over the animal. Everything is meaningless, all go to the same place; all come from dust and to dust all return. Who knows if the spirit of the man rises and if the spirit of the animal goes down to the earth.

Well the bible says to be absent from the body is to be present with the lord and our bodies return to dust and our spirits rise to be with Jesus if we die in Christ so this says who knows if a mans spirit rises..the scriptures tell us they do. Who knows if an animals spirit goes down to the earth tells us it rises also.

Update 2:

Matthew: The bible is not clueless on where mans spirit goes nor is it clueless on where animals spirits go. I just gave the scripture in Ecclessiastes which states that both man and animals spirits return to God and both their bodies return to dust from which they were made. That to me is not clueless. We know where mans spirit goes: To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord (if they die in Christ).

I believe that animals go to heaven. People say they don't have souls..Jesus never said Father, into your hands I commend my soul. He said Spirit.

Thanks people for your input.

In the Book of Revelation, there is mention of different animals ( horses, cattle, lions, etc ) so it may be possible for our pets to join us there...................we will have to wait and see :]

The lion lying down with the lamb is a reference to the millennium kingdom upon this earth when Christ will reign in person for 1000 years. As far as animals going to heaven. I certainly hope not. I've scooped enough manure in this life, that I don't want anymore in the next.

I am not sure the Bible says if animals go to heaven, but we should only be sticking to it for truth rather than making stuff up. I don't think it says so we are left clueless on this issue. It is very important where humans go and we are not left clueless on this issue. =)
