How to turn on a computer over WLAN or Wifi?

Is there a free iPhone app or are there alternative ways to turn on a computer over WLAN or Wifi (not the wake-on-LAN way)? All my computers are connected to the router wirelessly.

Wake on WLAN - allows remote wake up of mobile clients to perform software updates

Did a little bit more reading up on the Wake on WLAN. Looks like you'll need this too.

Pretty cool. Let's you test your WoWLAN.

Extensible Authentication Protocol (EAP) power-management scenarios, you must modify a registry key. GTK is used to encrypt and decrypt network traffic. EAP is an authentication framework that can be used over wired and wireless networks. In Windows 7, to enable support for Wake on Wireless LAN (WoWLAN) Group Temporal Key (GTK) Rekey, and Extensible Authentication Protocol (EAP) power-management scenarios, you must modify a registry key. Looks like it can be a real bugger to get that "magic packet" to make it all the way through your network. I saw some funky router settings as well that might have to be enabled. You will be the "go to man" if you get working.

You have to use a wire connection to use Wake On LAN (WOL). When using WOL

the computer is Off but the input to the Network card stays On, in contrast,

Wireless is Not staying On when the computer is Off

If you having a wired connection this might help,
