What is the music that opens Battlestar Galactica the TV series?
It is so haunting I would like to get it.

That is the opening theme written by Richard Gibbs for the miniseries. He also wrote most of the music for the miniseries. The remainder of the series was written by the brilliant young composer Bear McCreary. It is an amazing blend of orchestral and world music played on traditional and non-traditional instruments, often punctuated by taiko drums. You can read more here:

I still listen to the scores, especially when I'm reading sci-fi. Highlights for me incl. PRELUDE TO WAR from Season 2, and VIOLENCE & VARIATIONS from Season 3.
