How do you deal with PayPal when they refuse to respond to a problem?
I can't use my PayPal account because I can't log in without providing my bank account number. I have repeatedly entered the account number in every possible configuration, but none of them is acceptable. I have some money in the account that I'd like to transfer, but they've ignored three requests for help.
2 AnswersOther - Business & Finance7 years agoDo English pubs still have several different bars?
I recall fifty years ago there was usually—depending on the size—a public bar, a saloon bar and a private or cocktail bar. Are they still like that?
I'm doing research for a story and want it to sound as authentic as possible.
4 AnswersBeer, Wine & Spirits9 years agoWhat happens when a person is robbed in the London Underground?
I haven't been on the Underground in at least fifty years, so I don't know how things are today. I'm writing a story in which a woman's handbag is snatched as she leaves a train and proceeds to the exit. Where would she go to report the crime and how would her complaint be processed? Story takes place in 2008.
Thank you for your help.

I need to know how closely they can orbit without disturbing each others stability and life on the planets.
2 AnswersAstronomy & Space10 years agoWhy do eBooks cost more than printed books?
Are the eBook sellers or the book publishers trying to gouge consumers? I saw an eBook on Amazon yesterday that cost $21; the paperback version was half that. Is there anything consumers can do about it?

2 AnswersPDAs & Handhelds10 years agoHow can I stop Windows 7 putting all my data onto C drive?
The person who built my computer put a partition in my hard drive (I didn't ask him to). Trying to make the best of it, I decided to store all my data on D Drive, however, Windows 7 automatically puts everything onto C drive: downloads, Library, etc.
This makes it so confusing and it is annoying to have to search through complex folder trees to find anything. It also defeats the purpose of using C to hold only programs and system files, and D for data storage.
I recently lost half my pictures (more than 5,000) trying to sort them out and put them in one place.
I'm sure there must be a way to set up the drives that allows what I want to do without all the complications. Right?

Was someone afraid of what he might say about a certain family if he went to trial?
6 AnswersCurrent Events1 decade agoHow do you get Windows 7 Explorer to show real images on the thumbnails instead of a generic picture?
If you have a folder containing hundreds of pictures and they all look the same, it's not very helpful, in fact it's downright annoying. How do you find the one you want if you don't know the name? It would take hours to open them one at a time.

1 AnswerProgramming & Design1 decade agoWhat's the best e-book creation software for text only books?
I've been looking into this for a client and it's a little confusing. Some recommend PDF, others an HTML compiler; and then there's a grab-bag of programs ranging from free to almost $200 that promise everything from flash to videos.
Does anyone have any experience that would help me decide? The original manuscript is in MS Word.
2 AnswersBooks & Authors1 decade agoWhere can I find a step-by-step tutorial for slicing an image with Corel PhotoPaint?
The obvious answer would be the program's help files, but they're not clear on how to save the slices once they are done.
I have already searched the Web for an answer.
1 AnswerProgramming & Design1 decade agoDo you know anything about this virus: Trojan-Downloader.Win32.Agent.bhis?
It spawns a new tmp file every couple of minutes and two different virus scanners (not running simultaneously) have not been able to handle it. It may be linked to a porn site that opens up occasionally. I can't do any work because the warnings keep popping up every two minutes.
I can't complete a virus scan or restore my system to an earlier date. I've been trying to get rid of it for three days.
ALSO: how dangerous is it, apart from being a nuisance.
4 AnswersSecurity1 decade agoCan viruses disable antivirus scanners?
I have been using Avira Classic for about two years, but recently it would stop scanning at between 8 and 12 %. I tried to fix it as recommended by Avira, but it didn't help.
I then tried a new scanner, Avast Personal. The same thing is happening; it freezes after 17% scanned. However, it does work when I schedule a start-up scan.
I don't know what to do. Both these products are highly rated.
6 AnswersSecurity1 decade agoCan anyone name the bill or piece of legislation that makes paying income tax obligatory in the US?
I heard recently that there is none. This would make it illegal for the Federal government to force people to pay income tax.
