SONY HANDY CAM DCR-H21?
Is there software that I can download or buy that will actually let me use this camcorder with Windows 7 Premium X-64, I have a Compaq Pre. AMD 2g/250. I went to Microsoft's website and none of the downloads I found for this model were compatible. (I searched the model found and only downloaded the suggested software).

Your camera is as you know tape based you need to install I firewire card unless you already have one, its the only way that you will capture the video from the camera.

Check in your device mamager for a device called IEEE1394 (same as firewire) if its there all you need is a cable if not then you need a card and cable both can be brought for around $20.
