Is anyone battling insomnia?
I have no problem falling asleep at 3 to 5 in the am. I've tried to go to bed And fall asleep at 11pm or so but I get so frustrated when I can't fall asleep that I have stopped trying. Pills are out because I went that route with Excedrin PM but then I couldn't be without them; yeah, addiction's are not my best answer. What do you do to rid yourself of this problem?

I work nights so its hard for me to fall asleep during the day. I take melatonin, It is a natural way to fall asleep. You can get it any where in the medication department and is fairly inexpensive. I have taken it off and on for about 1 year and am not addicted to it. I hope this helps. Good Luck

Hey,
I have this problem sometimes:
I go to bed at a normal hour and I'm tired but just can't sleep and then the next day I am totally EXHAUSTED!
I find this works for me:
If your a teenager it is best to go to bed at about 10:00 - 10:30, your body wants to go to bed late and wake up late.
If you can sleep in till seven thirty, go to bed at 11.
Whatever time you you to bed, try and stick to that time every night and wake at about the same time everyday.
During the night, if you lie in bed for more than 1/2 an hour, turn on the light and read a book, sit up and listen to a quiet song, write all the thoughts in your head on paper or get out of bed and make some milk in the kitchen.
Go back to bed, get comfy.
Tighten everything in your body as you breathe in and then relax as you breath out, wring out all the tension in your muscles! Do this about 3 times
In the morning, don't wake up and go back to sleep several times, get up once you wake up.
This works for me, hope it does for you!
Oh and I try to have a long warm shower before bed to :)

I have tried everything for insomnia. What works most of the time is to take glycine, GABA, taurine and 5-htp.
However, I have just learned that a congested gallbladder may be the cause, so I am going to try liver/gallbladder flushes to see if they will help. There is a lot of information on Curezone about these.
I also learned that our ancestors used to sleep twice a night, so I'm thinking it might be pretty normal to walk up around 3 am and not fall back asleep right away. The problem is if I have to get up early and can't get back to sleep.

I have yet to try it because I'm lazy and poor, but everyone (professional and not) tells me to exercise and eat healthier. In fact, that's the fix to a lot of problems.
