why can I not take them of a wrongly addressed envelope and put them on another envelope

Well, we in Germany don't have still stamps which have to be licked... ;) But when we had them, we always licked them, but our mum told us to spit at them, she didn't wanted our mouths to touch it, whyever, I don't know.
And: If I get a letter with a stamp, on which is no seal from the post office, I cut the stamp out and use it, when I write the next letter.
I've still got three stamps, lying here on my desk...
So, whenever you need some stamps... ;)

They are self adhesive, but you could always cut round them and stick them on another envelope, if they are not franked, I do!!!
